It’s true; there’s love in every bite of food that includes dairy, which is why there are so many national days in February that celebrate dairy-friendly recipes. The Nevada Dairy Farmers are firm believers that a healthy diet is consistent with dairy, whole grains, proteins, legumes, fruits and vegetables, but we also leave room for the occasional sweet tooth, like these sugar cookies or something savory like these Game Day Nachos. This month, we’re reveling in dairy-rich recipes, sweet delights and comfort cravings for you to enjoy with your family and friends!
Here’s your February recipe lineup!

National Pizza Day – February 9, 2024
There’s one thing Italy, New York, Detroit and Chicago all have in common… their love and appreciation for pizza. Whether you prefer wood fired oven pizza or deep dish pies, the love language across all locations is universal. We partnered with our friends at DOPO Pizza & Pasta, to learn all their tips and tricks on making their Quattro Formaggio (four cheese). For a quick afternoon snack or easy lunch for you and the kiddos, try this English Muffin Cheese Pizza.
National Bagel and Lox Day – February 9, 2024
Bagel and Lox is what we’d consider some of the perfect breakfast/brunch items in the Spring especially with fresh sprouts, cucumbers, fresh dill or spring onions. If cured salmon isn’t for you we have a fruity and festive citrus inspired Bagel Board recipe that’s a definite crowd pleaser for any time of the year.
National Pancake Day – February 13, 2024
Whether they’re filled with blueberries, chocolate chips, or topped with fresh whipped cream, eating pancakes is one of our favorite ways to start the morning. As farmers, we’re constantly on the go which is why we particularly love The Dutch Baby Pancake. This recipe requires you to combine your mixture (eggs, flour, milk, sugar and butter) in a heated cast iron skillet and pop it in the oven for no more than 15 minutes. Once the Dutch Baby Pancake is cooked, we top it off with warm maple syrup and the zest of a lemon. It’s easy to make, delightful and made with simple ingredients.
National Cheddar Day – February 13, 2024
Whoever said, “Everything’s better with Cheddar” wasn’t lying. Though we think a national day is a huge feat, we think a whole month could be dedicated to cheddar. In celebration of National Cheddar Day try your hand at making this luscious Beer Cheese Fondue or our Signature Mac n’ Cheese.
National Clam Chowder Day – February 25, 2024
New England, Manhattan, Rhode Island and Seattle all claim to have some of the best clam chowder, we wanted to get down to the bottom of this so we did our research to discover who really had the best chowder. Though we’ll never pass up the opportunity to eat any kind of chowder, Seattle Style Clam Chowder has our hearts. We partnered with Centro Reno to learn more about how to make this delectable dish and were delighted to learn how simple and tasty it was! Try your hand at making this recipe and complete the meal with a side of buttered bread.
