Margherita Flatbread Pizza
This pizza is quick, easy, delicious and perfect for a warm summer evening. It can easily be served as an appetizer or the main course. It’s amazing how just a few, fresh ingredients can make something so tasty.
Ingredients
- 1 piece naan bread
- 3 pieces fresh mozzarella cheese sliced to 1/2 inch thickness
- 1 heirloom tomato (sliced thin) or cherry tomatoes (halved)
- 5-6 leaves fresh basil
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1.5 tbsp olive oil
- 1.5 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- Mix the garlic and oil together. Brush the naan bread with half of the mixture and then place in a pre-heated oven for five minutes.
- Chop the basil leaves.
- Remove the bread from the oven and then sprinkle with 1/4 of the basil leaves. Next top with three slices of mozzarella cheese, then the thinly sliced tomatoes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to your liking.
- Place back in the oven for another five minutes. Then turn the broiler on and broil for 2-3 minutes. Watch it closely so it doesn't burn! Remove from oven.
- Mix the remaining oil and garlic with the balsamic vinegar. Drizzle the mixture over the bread and sprinkle with the rest of the basil eaves.
