Milk’s Journey From Farm to Table

May 14, 2020

There are a lot of moo-ving pieces when it comes to getting milk from the farm to the store in just 48 hours.

The dairy process starts on the farm. Our farmers are out taking care of their cows 365 days a year. Most of our dairy farmers have been caring for cows for generations and they understand how important the farm is to feed people.

Did you know milk is one of the most regulated foods in the United States? It is tested before it leaves the farm for the processing facility and again when it arrives at the facility. The milk then goes through pasteurization at the processing facility to ensure it is safe for you and your family.

Milk is then packaged into school milk cartons, gallons and many more variations so it can be transported to schools, stores, restaurants, food banks and anywhere else you find milk.
