Dairy Management West awarded a Super Bowl Package to one lucky Fuel Up to Play 60 Program
Advisor an expense-paid trip to Atlanta for Super Bowl LIII! Many Fuel Up to Play 60 Program Advisors
go above and beyond to make wellness exciting and accessible to their students, so selecting one winner
between NV and AZ was not easy.
Ms. Ada Feliciano of Forbuss Elementary School was brought to tears from the overwhelming
excitement when the Dairy Council of Nevada® team delivered her the Super Bowl Package. To be
eligible, program advisors needed to complete the Fuel Up to Play 60 six steps and show increased
student engagement in the program. This second-grade teacher won two tickets to the big game on
February 3 rd at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, plus hotel accommodations and special event tickets, including
concert tickets featuring Bruno Mars and Cardi B. Ms. Feliciano will have a lot to brag about during her
time in Atlanta which is sure to entail a fun-filled weekend!
Ms. Feliciano first learned about Fuel Up to Play 60 while attending a seminar in 2018 presented by
Dairy Council of Nevada®. She immediately joined and started recruiting. She has since held a kickoff
assembly to educate fellow staff and students. She stated, “The teachers and staff have been very
supportive in joining my effort to encourage students to eat nutritional meals, drink milk for healthy
bones, and participate in 60 minutes of daily exercise.” Also, they enjoy the nutritional curriculum and
workbooks for teaching students about the benefits of nourishing meals. Ada indicated, “We have
drafted a team of students who are leading our student body in making positive wellness decisions and
guiding them with various physical activities. Our students are committed to making healthy choices!”
Students have enjoyed actives such as football, flag football, dancing brain breaks, and dance club for
exercise.
To celebrate this exciting event, various local media sources will be present during the celebration
assembly themed, “Touchdown! Light up the Scoreboard!” at Forbuss Elementary School on January
31st. The media has already been reaching out to Ms. Feliciano to interview her on her outstanding
experience activating the program.
