Looking for something that will be a hit for game day, parties or a delicious afternoon snack? This is the perfect bread loaded with cheesy goodness. Tip: make two so you don’t run out.
4green onions, chopped (more for garnish, if desired)
3cupsshredded Gouda cheese
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Using a serrated bread knife, cut a cross-hatch pattern into the bread. You want the bread to stay together, so slice ~1/2-inch grid lines into the bread lengthwise, then widthwise without cutting through the bottom.
Combine melted butter and garlic. Gently separating the bread with your fingers, drizzle the melted garlic butter between the cuts until the entire loaf is drizzled.
Spray aluminum foil with non-stick cooking spray, place the loaf of bread on the foil and wrap the bread about halfway. Cover the cop with a separate piece of ungreased foil.
Place the foiled bread on a large baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
Remove the bread from the oven and take off the top piece of foil.
Gently pry apart the bread, stuff the bacon into the crevices. Next, stuff the cheese into the crevices.
Once evenly stuffed, sprinkle the green onions on top and push them gently into the bread.
Place the uncovered bread back in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is melted.
Remove from the oven, sprinkle with additional green onions, if desired.
Remove the bottom foil and serve warm.
Notes
Serve with buffalo or hot sauce if a spicer bread is desired!
