Separate the crescent dough into 8 rectangles and seal the perforations. Brush 4 rectangles with butter and sprinkle with Cheddar and Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle onion or garlic powder.
Cover with the 4 remaining rectangles and press the edges to seal. Cut each crosswise into eight 1/2 inch strips. Twist each strip 3 or 4 times and place on a greased baking sheet.
